Diesel Truck Maintenance Technician (Diesel Mechanic) Job Responsibilities As a Diesel Mechanic you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines. You will conduct fuel, Air, HVAC and electrical diagnostic under limited supervision. You will communicate with drivers regarding vehicle condition reports and make appropriate repairs based on your findings. Other responsibilities of the Technician role include: Completing repairs and parts replacements Completing written record of work performed Maintaining a clean work and shop area as directed Conducting preventative maintenance on cooling systems, lights, HVAC, power train, brakes and trailer repair Conducting safety inspections Testing air brakes, wheel seals, suspensions and HVAC systems Conducting general and preventative maintenance and safety inspections on Mack and International fleets Job Requirements As a Diesel Mechanic you must be a dependable self-starter and team player with excellent communication skills. You must be highly organized and work well within a team setting. You must have basic computer skills in order to utilize diagnostic programs and complete necessary paperwork. Qualified candidates have a great attitude and the ability to troubleshoot effectively with a basic understanding of shop tools and safety procedures. Other requirements of the Technician role include: High School Diploma or GED Technical training or mechanic school, a plus Any related certifications (e.g., engine, electrical), a plus 1 – 2 years of experience in diesel mechanic maintenance repair Preventative maintenance experience on cooling systems, lights, HVAC, power train, brakes and trailer repair Experience working with Mack & International trailers and/or tractors, preferred Must have your own basic tools/tool box Valid Driver’s License Must have a clean criminal record Ability to pass a background check including no DUIs in the past 5 years 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available Benefits We offer opportunities to advance in leadership roles by working your way up to lead mechanic and supervisory positions.
