Primus is currently seeking a Vehicle Mechanic with experience repairing and maintaining military vehicles as well as fire engines. This individual will join our team in Avon Park, FL. Roles/Responsibilities: * Perform vehicle maintenance activities on military and commercial vehicles (special purpose vehicles and general purpose vehicles) as well as equipment * Perform maintenance activities on Air Force and commercial fire engines/trucks including inspection, diagnostics, repair and rebuild of components and assemblies * Maintaining fire trucks such as the P19R, P23, P24, P26, P30, P34 RIV and Foam Dispensing Trailer * Determine serviceability of vehicle systems, assemblies or subassemblies and the need for repair * Analyze malfunctions by visual and auditory examination or through the use of test equipment * Repair, adjusts or overhaul and/or replace major assemblies, or subassemblies such as engine, mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, fuel, emission, power train, brake, steering and suspension systems. * Remove and or disassemble gasoline or diesel engenders and components * Perform preventative and special maintenance * Use technical publications to maintain vehicles to prescribed manufacturers' maintenance schedule as well as perform special inspections and maintenance on vehicles requiring corrosion control, storage, shipment and winterization Requirements: * High School graduate or equivalent with formal apprentice or military training experience * Two (2) years experience in a motor pool or commercial maintenance facility * Commercial fire Engine maintenance/repair (Class 1), foam systems, foam inductor pumps, relay logic systems (not command zone), 4 tier diesel engines, Scanners - new styles, injection pumps/injectors is strongly desired but may be able to train in these areas * Ability to lift and move 70 pounds * Ability to pass government background investigation * Current and valid Class "A" driver's license; CDL is preferred * Knowledge of principles and theory applying to general purpose and special vehicles, technical orders and maintenance procedures * Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic principles applying to the repair of general and special purpose vehicles and equipment * Air Force and commercial Fire Truck repair desired * Experience with methods of hoisting and handling heavy mechanisms, using lubricants, tools and supply procedures as well as internal combustion engines ASRC Federal and its Subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity Employers.null
